John McCain headed last night for a fundraiser, with the Public Campaign Action Fund (PCAF) hard on his heels. The fundraiser was arranged through the hard work of lobbyists whose affiliations have been carefully catalogued by the reformers at PCAF, an organization sorely put out by McCain’s reconciliation with special interests and by his increasingly fickle behavior on reform issues.
Public financing reform is PCAF's mission, both reconstruction of the troubled Presidential system and an extension of the model to Congressional elections. John McCain has been an inconsistent ally, sometimes for and sometimes against public financing, a point made in this slide show that the organization released yesterday.
It is meant to be a telling demonstration of the curvilinear qualities of McCain’s Straight Talk.
